ECCLECTIC SPRITE brooch/pendant/wall piece

Oh, it's so fun to make these little sprites (or if you prefer, you can see them as fairies or angels). This class will explore color mixing, using and making flexible molds, polymer clay sculpting techniques, and the process of adding beads and found object accents. Each sprite will be a unique character - yours won't look like anyone else's!

All skill levels are welcome including beginners, and all materials and tools will be provided.

What’s steampunk anyway?  Steampunk is a look – a Victorian-era mad scientist-adventurer kind-of look, with a bit of fantasy around the edges.  It’s all clockwork gears with brassy bits, and is a very hot look right now.

Join Christi for this free make&take mini-class and see how you like playing with steampunk polymer clay!

All skill levels are welcome including beginners, and all materials and tools will be provided.

STEAMPUNK DRAGON pendant

When it comes to a fun look, ‘steampunk’ (a Victorian-era-clockwork and fantasy kind of thing) is so much fun to create you won’t want to stop! Add the dragon theme of the project and you’ve got a great workshop! The emphasis is on color blending, sculptural details and techniques for adding steampunk and beaded embellishments.

In this class, we will create a detailed, luscious floral focal bead, inspired by the sensual lines of the Art Nouveau style.  Emphasis on color mixing, composition and adding beads and gems to polymer clay.  All skill levels are welcome.

Sea-Through Dolphin pendant – polymer clay and resin  $80

Exploring the use of resin with polymer clay – it’s easy and spectacular! This class will emphasize design and composition, adding mixed media embellishments and of course using resin to mimic the look of water.

Thurs. Feb. 4 – 2:30-6:00

Tree Vessel – armature/wrapped vessel  $100

This class will explore using armatures – glass jars and wire – to create a more dramatic piece.  Emphasis is on design and composition, creating movement with dangles of beads, adding beaded embellishments, and of course use of armatures to create dimensional sculpture.

Fri. Feb. 5 -- 10:00-1:00

Vintage Garden - necklace bead set  $80

In this class we will create a multi bead set that can be strung into a dramatic art jewelry necklace (or your pieces can be individual focal beads or brooches).  Handouts with full stringing/necklace assembly will be a part of the class.  The emphasis is on color mixing, incorporating mixed media/beads/vintage elements and necklace design.

Swell Swirls - dichro pendant make-it-take-it  Free!

you can’t sign up for this one – you have to show up!  Quick and easy pendant incorporating dichro glass cabs and polymer clay.  A great introduction to clay work.

POLYMER CLAY PARTY NIGHT!

Make-and-takes with multiple polymer clay teachers, demos in polymer clay and silver clay, all kinds of groovy giveaways, contests, show-your-stuff table, snacks and other fun stuff!

Eclectic Sprites – pendant/brooch or wall pieces – mixed media and mold-making  $90

This class is great fun! We will be making silicon molds of vintage jewelry elements (which you’ll get to keep) and using them to embellish the wings and bodys of these whimsical creatures.  Emphasis is on surface treatments, accent options, color blending and mixed media additions to polymer clay sculptural work.  You know you wanna take this one!

Steampunk Pup focal bead  $50

Steampunk is a wonderful look incorporating vintage gears, brassy bits and faux leather to make a futuristic nostalgic piece.  And what better way to get into that look than with this wind-up pup! Emphasis is on fun! and on adding mixed media embellishments!

 

Sun. Feb. 7 -- 10:00-1:30

Fantasy Garden mirror  $85

Due to popular demand, this class is back! A potpourri of floral fun – leaves and embellishments right out of a Dr. Suess garden.  Emphasis on color mixing, adding unusual accents, design and composition.  Working over a mirror is a fun skill, one you’ll want to use again, and the floral and leafy bits can also be used in focal beads and brooches.  Lots to learn in this class!

 

Sun. Feb. 7 – 2:30-4:30

Steampunk Dragonfly focal bead/brooch  $50

Dragonflies are a wonderfully delicate creature, and they are fun and easy to create.  Combine that with some steampunk elements and you’ve got a project that’s sure to get attention! Emphasis on color mixing, adding accents and use of molded elements.

 

Sun. Feb. 7 – 6:00-9:00

Steampunk Dragon focal bead  $75

More steampunk fun!  Dragons are my signature piece, of course, and they’re even more fun steampunked! Add a crystal dangle and you’ve got a project you won’t want to miss!  Emphasis on color mixing, sculptural techniques and adding embellishments.
